Kids say the darndest things

Blake wanted to do a "science project" tonight. So we mixed up the usual yellow water + blue water= green water experiment. Then we added a yellow oil + blue water= yellow oil and blue water. So he figured out that oil + water doesn't mix. Then added soap and figured out that soap dissolves the oil. Now for the amazing part- asked him what he learned:
oil and water don't mix (check)
blue + yellow= green (check)
And then all on his own- "you shouldn't add soap to a car's engine or it will dissolve the car's oil and keep it from working"
Seriously, we are in BIG TROUBLE!

First Post

Alright- so my sister was doing it, decided I would give this a try as well. Says its a way to keep track of this hectic thing we call life.

For those who don't know, we are in the process of setting up a new office in the county north of us. As part of this, we are starting to operate out of multiple hospitals as well. So yesterday, asked my nurse where I was scheduled to operate today- she tells me Community (of course she was a little frazzled from a run-in with our local health inspector). So get up early and drive 30min north to Comm hospital, walk in and they look at me like "what are you doing here?" Nope, no surgery there. I decide to drive south towards home and my office (which doesn't open until 9). About halfway there, get a page from another hospital. Yep, the "where are you" page. So drive down there, do the case (which takes all of 10min) then drive back to Community where I actually do have a case later that morning (another 10min case). In total, about 2 hrs of driving for about 2o min of surgery. Oh well, rest of the day was better. Saw some patients back that had good outcomes- always nice to end the clinic with a smile and a thank you. Now off to bed- tomorrow is our hell day in the OR. For those who check back here regularly, will be adding some of the more "interesting" stories as I go.
